Question

Regarding the product regulatory compliance requirements for smooth passage of kitchen products into a specific country, I have the following question:
What are the specific product regulatory compliance requirements, particularly related to the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) directive, that our oven gloves need to meet in order to ensure smooth entry into your country?

Answer

In the PPE area, there applies
– above-mentioned Act No. 56/2018 Coll., and
– Regulation (EU) 2016/425 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2016 on personal protective equipment and repealing Council Directive 89/686/EEC (Regulation (EU) 2017/425).
Please check also PPE Regulation (EU) 2016_425 Guidelines (DocsRoom – European Commission (europa.eu)). According to this document „Protective gloves against heat for private use“ are classified as category II of PPE. Based on this information, the conformity assessment procedure are as follows: EU type-examination (module B) followed by conformity to type based on internal production control (module C).
As regards PPE (Regulation (EU) 2016/425) we recommend you to address directly any notified body responsible for this area referred to in the above-mentioned List of Technical regulations from the area of conformity assessment according to the Act No. 56/2018 Coll. and European legislation of the New Approach). There are listed products from the area of conformity assessment according to the Act No. 56/2018 Coll., applicable regulations, notified bodies for relevant regulations, etc.
